PYLAR, one of the best kept secret of the Spanish underground, is a collective formed in Seville (Spain) by members of Orthodox and Blooming Látigo. With an imaginary that feeds on occult sciences, the sacred (with special attention to pagan themes) or hyperstition, PYLAR navigates the depths of mysticism and cosmic horror evoking interdimensional and abyssal sonic scenarios.
An instrumental training that incorporates percussion, guitars, keyboards, horn, violin or mandolin, to which is added vocals that intone texts by the experimental writer and philosopher Francisco Jota-Pérez, fragments extracted from occult sciences and the cult vanguard grimoire Cyclonopedia. PYLAR moves between experimental doom metal, black metal and psychedelia, creating music of dense textures by superimposing elements in the styles of Blut Aus Nord, Swans or Oranssi Pazuzu. Their first work “Poderoso se alza en my” (2013) was their letter of presentation, praised by the very Julian Cope.
In LÍMYTE, their new album, PYLAR collaborated with renowned musician and producer CG Santos (Teitanblood, etc.) who has created a piece of music, playing hurdy-gurdies and modular synths, with the aim of being inserted into LÍMYTE and outside element so that it can open PYLAR´s compositions on this album outwards, towards a hypercacophony. The tension created through the overlapping of these elements causes cracks in the music through which what-is-beyond can be glimpsed, while breaking with the linear narrative of traditional musical discourse. An expansion arises towards a collapse that does not imply the end but a rearrangement of the primary symbols used at an aesthetic level for a new beginning in an endless spiral…
When you accelerate an artistic genre you get its cutting edge. PYLAR aims to take Metal to its limits and explore and ultimately break them in order to glimpse new heights to which to go from, always towards the last frontier… Dwell outside, in the always-beyond, in beauty irrational and unknowable limit. Metal as the ultimate tool to destroy and create in an endless cycle.
There is a cartography of the absolute. What years ago was on the limit, at the extreme, is now more central. PYLAR makes irrational incursions into the furthest vortices looking for the elements that place a proposal at the limit. Seeking the limit-constant, the edge of the abyss, and this new album is located there. Positioned in a non-place, since it constantly changes its location. And that place is the limit, the only space where they can crack what separates them from the next non-place, the one that has not yet been explored.
LÍMYTE is PYLAR´s new album, the seventh in his career and the third and final chapter of the trilogy that began with HORROR CÓSMYCO (2019) and ABYSMOS (2021).

Machine driven Industrial with superb Atmospherics. Listening to it in your car isn't a good idea as it demands you're attention especially at night. It really needs a big system to unlock it's awesomeness and awesome it is. jazzberto
